CNA/PCA 

Major Responsibilities: 

Care for residents under the direction and supervision of the Wellness Director. Some responsibilities include: 

  • Take and record vital signs

  • Measure and record height and weight, intake and output

  • Care for the resident's environment 

  • Assist with bathing, grooming, and toileting

  • Assist with eating and hydration

  • Observe resident's skin when administering care and report changes to Wellness Director; provide skin care as needed

  • Meet resident's mental health and social service needs 

  • Know residents and their Care Plans

  • Know the details of the medications administered to residents

  • Follow Residents Rights at all times 

Required Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations: 

  • If applying for CNA 

  • Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in the state of Michigan 

  • Unencumbered by any licensing or state violations

  • Must have BLS certification

  • If applying for PCA

  • High School graduate/GED

  • Must have BLS certification

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions

  • Must be able to safely lift, transfer and ambulate residents 

  • Must possess psychosocial skills to be able to interact effectively with residents, staff, families and visitors

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities 

  • Long Term Care for at least 2 years preferred
